Hot List Silver 2023

Our Review:

WHAT IT DOES: The 8620-carbon-steel clubhead offers a soft feel, but the secret sauce is the machine-engraved scorelines in the milled face. Wilson created a tightly spaced groove pattern that allows the ball to engage more groove edges at impact for extra spin, especially on half shots where the grooves don’t channel as much debris. The sole is designed to make it easier to open the face, making it a good choice for tight lies or firm conditions.

WHY WE LIKE IT: Wilson has a heritage with wedges dating to the R90 in the 1930s, and it stays true to that lineage here only with modern touches, such as an HT option (56 and 60 degrees) with a high toe and scorelines that stretch across the face. The sensation at impact makes you feel like you have soft hands even if you don’t. Read more>>>

Low-Handicapper
"Nice monochrome design. Clean and respectable topline. For such a light club it's surprisingly long on full shots. Produces a lot of power and some spin when you go after it on full shots."
Handicap, +4
Medium-Handicapper
"Everything feels really connected. Ball flight on full shots got a nice, mid launch. Chipping around the green it was easy to hit the low checker."
Handicap, 8
High-Handicapper
“These provide an opportunity to get aggressive on full shots. No digging at impact, just the right-size divot for the shot.”
