PGA Championship odds 2023: Is it time to back Dustin Johnson?

A few weeks ago, it was easy to forget Dustin Johnson existed. He hadn't done much on the LIV Tour in 2023, and his T-48 finish at the Masters in April left quite a bit to be desired.

Then he picked off his second LIV victory in Tulsa on Sunday, defeating Cameron Smith and Branden Grace in a playoff. Now the page turns to the second major of the season, the PGA Championship at Oak Hill. Have we seen enough to jump on the DJ bandwagon?

Considering he can be found as high as 28-1 at some sportsbooks, it's impossible not to give the two-time major champion a look. Ditto that for Smith, who can be found as high as 33-1. That's a price most of us would have killed for in a major this time last year, and now you can get it while he's theoretically in form.

As for the top of the odds board, it's the usual suspects. Jon Rahm is the favorite, and, depending on the book, Scottie Scheffler is either the co-favorite or a close second favorite. Rory McIlroy, Patrick Cantlay and Brooks Koepka round out the top five, with Xander Schauffele and Justin Thomas following soon after.

Below are the odds for every player in the field at the 2023 PGA Championship:
