The best courses in Orlando under $100

January 21, 2023

Nailing down a Florida golf trip itinerary can be overwhelming. With over 1,450 courses in the state (including nine-holers), the options can blend together. The task becomes even more challenging if you’re on a budget, as increased greens fees have made it tough to play on the cheap.

That said, if you’re planning a Florida golf trip and looking to limit the financial damage, Orlando is a great option. A short flight from many East Coast hubs, it’s an easy weekend getaway.

We’re here to help narrow down your options for your next trip to Central Florida with the Best Courses in Orlando Under $100. You may notice some Orlando staples (Orange County National, Disney’s Magnolia, Reunion Resort, etc.) are missing—they’re just over our $100 threshold. The below are the options that deliver unmatched value.

Though most courses have moved to a dynamic pricing system, where the rate changes daily based on demand, we’ve found regularly offered rates for under $100 at each of these layouts. Playing in the afternoon will offer you the best value, but many of these tracks can be found for a reasonable rate in the morning, too.

Scroll on to read more about each course and click around to read reviews from our course-ranking panelists. We hope you enjoy our searchable course database, Places to Play, our new hub for course reviews, experts’ opinions and star ratings.

Southern Dunes Golf and Country Club
Public
Southern Dunes Golf and Country Club
Haines City, FL

Southern Dunes grew out of an unfortunate event in 1989, when a 350 acre citrus grove was lost to a severe freeze. Instead of replanting the grove, the group of owners decide to build a golf course on the land. Today, Southern Dunes offers a refreshing design that differs from many typical Florida layouts, where flat fairways are heavily guarded by water. Instead, Southern Dunes plays over rolling terrain with elevation changes of up to 100 feet. Though water is in play on a few holes, tall-lipped bunkers are the primary defense, and many guard the fairways and greens. Note: Southern Dunes is about 45 minutes from downtown Orlando. Depending on where you're staying, it may be a bit of a drive, but it is worth getting to if possible.

Howey In The Hills, FL
Mission Inn Resort offers two courses which have hosted numerous amateur and professional events, including PGA Tour Latinoamerica Q school. Winter Park Golf Course

Winter Park Golf Course
Winter Park, FL
A par 35 that stretches out to 2,480 yards, what Winter Park lacks in distance it makes up for in dramatic green contours, steep bunkers and moss-covered oaks. As Golf Digest’s Architecture Editor Emeritus Ron Whitten wrote on Winter Park: "Keith Rhebb, longtime course builder for the firm of Coore and Crenshaw, and Riley Johns, winner of the 2014 Lido Design Contest, teamed up to rip apart and restitch WP9, as it is now called, providing it with much-needed character and sterling turf."

The Deltona Club

The Deltona Club
Deltona, FL

The Deltona Club offers a captivating Bobby Weed design that differs from the occasionally monotonous, flat Florida layouts. Deltona is defined by its significant elevation changes and massive bunkering. It’s worth noting that if you place a high value on immaculate course conditions, Deltona may not be for you. Though the conditions may not meet the level of a private club, we include Deltona on our best courses you can play in Orlando list due to the intriguing design that differs from many nearby layouts. Note: Deltona is located about halfway between Orlando and Daytona Beach. About 30 miles from Orlando, it's a bit of a drive but worth considering if you have the time.

Dubsdread Golf Course

Dubsdread Golf Course
Orlando, FL
Centrally located near downtown Orlando, Dubsdread dates to 1924 and as our E. Michael Johnson writes, it still has the “old-school” vibe. Don’t let 6,153 yards from the tips fool you—the course is quite narrow and plays longer than its yardage. Johnson recommends stopping in for a post-round meal in the clubhouse, which he calls “one of Orlando’s most delicious eateries.”

Eagle Creek Golf Club
Orlando, FL
Located less than 15 minutes from the Orlando airport, Eagle Creek is a par-73 layout that tips out at nearly 7,200 yards (though there are five sets of tees). The course plays through a housing development and is relatively generous off the tee. Wooden bulkheads line some of the water hazards and deep pot bunkers are in play throughout, enhancing the character of this public track. Though winter rates are often in the low-$100s, you can find deals under $100 when booking just a few days out or when playing in the afternoon.

Tipping out at just under 6,900 yards, the course is a solid test with some demanding shots, especially on the back nine. Though winter rates are typically in the low-$100s, you can often find tee times under $100 within a couple days of when you’re looking to play.
